April Fools!

It’s amazing what people will believe – isn’t it? Yes, sometimes it’s because the hoax is a very cleverly constructed one, but most of the time it’s because I think people deep down have an inborn naivete that makes mob pranks easier. April Fool’s Day is a perfect opportunity to put such a theory to the test, and apparently, quite a few well known organizations try to do just that every year. With amazing success, I might add. I’m amazed by the number of pranks the BBC has pulled off in the past and can’t wait to hear what they tried today. Well, no April fools pranks for me today – it’s past 12 and I apparently survived unscathed.  Good thing too as the remnants of the cold are still here – as I drink another bowl of turkey soup. I’m here blogging instead and soon off to do some more knitting. How did you fare? Please tell me if you played a good prank on someone or if they did on you!

April 1st is also time for an update on the 52 in 52. By this time I should have completed 8 projects. I am a little behind having only completed 6, but plan on catching up this month. I am on schedule with the giveaways though, as after I gave away the scarf via the crossword contest, I had given away a total of 3 things already. I also got a very welcomed phone call this morning. An LYS has gotten in a color of the Berocco Ultra Alpaca that I needed to complete one of my UFOs! I will be visiting them tomorrow to get it and finish the sweater. I will also make sure I write out the pattern for distribution later. I can’t wait to get the yarn, it’s one of my favorites to work with and it feel so good when knitted up.

So to get myself on track and staying there, I’m going to list my next 6 projects that I plan on finishing this month. I’m hoping that by putting them here, it will help me be more accountable and get them done! Now these are in no particular order, and if I finish these 6 projects I will definitely be doing more.

Cabled Sweater (Ultra Alpaca) – Allie’s Sweater – Jason’s Sweater – Knitted Boxers – Beaded gloves – Beaded Scarf or Shawl.

Cable Guy!

That’s 3 sweaters and 2 accessories and 1 I don’t know where to categorize it object (the boxers). Sorry, but these are all accounted for so there won’t be a contest this month to give one away, but I’ll make up for it next month – promise! I’m going to do a version of the boxers on a machine to ensure I have the pattern right because I’ve been knitting it for about 6 hours now and I’m only halfway across the right panel. Knitting a larger object in sock yarn is a bit of a pain! And about 3 hours in it struck me that I should have used the Patons Stretch sock yarn! Darn – should have thought about that one. Anyway, I’ll let you know how it all turns out!

Hugzzz 😎
