If you don’t know the title reference, you should definitely look it up. It’s the song Summertime, composed by George Gershwin, and one of the most covered songs in music history. Although some 30,000+ musicians have covered this song, it is probably most recognized when being sung by the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald. Okay, with that being said, I humbly added a little knitting twist to it! Reaching out to my knitting community (and anyone else that likes good music) to see if there’s anyone out there with a good singing voice that would want to record this version for me. 😉
Knitting time,
And the pattern is easy
Your wool is merino,
And some cashmere as well
The needles are clickin’
And the end is nigh,
Don’t fret my sweetheart
There’s no itch to tell
One of these mornings
This sweater will be finished
You’ll slip it on
And let out a big sigh
So I’ll keep a knittin’
Fast as my needles will let me
So you just have to wait
‘Till it’s all done
Your seams are all flat
And your decreases full fashioned
Don’t fret my dear sweetheart
It’s gonna look all right!
Summertime
And the knitting is easy
The cables are scrumptious
And the colors are bright
Hugzzz 😎
