It’s a Party …

… And you’re invited!!

Tomorrow is International Knit In Public Day, even though us seasoned knitters don’t need a reason to flash our sticks in public! And yes, crocheters are welcome too!  It doesn’t matter if you’re shy or (k)not though, as tomorrow you’ve been given license to get out and show the world your stitches!!

There will be gatherings all over the world as knitters congregate en masse and do what they like doing best – a knit here, a purl there, even a YO or two. I of course will be doing some serious cables as I join in on 2 different meetings, after which I plan to go elsewhere and knit some more (yes, still in public).

If you’re local to the lower mainland and you want to join me, I’ll be at the following ventures …

1. Tommy Douglas Library in Burnaby. The meeting here will take place from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm and here’s a link telling you everything you need to know  if you want to join in on the fun … Tommy Douglas Knit in Public

2. Knit 1 Take 2 in New Westminster. My regular Sunday group is meeting on Saturday this week in order to KIP. We’re going to the Paddlewheeler Public House in New West to knit together and have a mojito or two!! Okay, I might have a mojito or 3, but you don’t have to. Space is limited and you’re expected to order something from the pub as we aren’t being charged for the space, but since it’s supposed to be a fantastic day, that won’t be a difficult thing. I’ll be leaving the Tommy Douglas event early to get to this one.

After that I’ll be heading to “The Drive” to catch the last bit of the afternoon sun and do some more knitting on one of the great patios that are there. Send me an email and I’ll text you to let you know where!

If you’re not in Vancouver, you can visit the official KIP day website to find the event nearest you. If not, create your own! All you need is some yarn and needles and a great attitude!! Click the picture below to go to the official website!
