On July 25, I was lucky enough to be one of the 3,000 or so knitters in attendance a the 9th Annual Stitch ‘N’ Pitch event at the Seattle mariners baseball game! What a blast we had – and Seattle won the game 8-2, due in large part to a barrage of runs in the 2nd inning. 6 runs as a matter of fact. In that 6th inning Nick Franklin went yard, I mean went yarn for a 3 run blast!

While the game was a good one, of the 18,000 fans in attendance, it was evident that the 3,000 knitters were having the best time! Aside from meeting new friends, we were enjoying the goodies in the swag bag we got from showing our tickets, and admiring our free t-shirts as well! All this for $15! Not only that, vendors were set up on the 3rd level to sell their wares. What could have been better – yarn, beer, and baseball! Sign me up!

I also got to meet a huge fan in person for the first time – Tammy Burke! Thanks for finding me and for coming all the way from Idaho Tammy – now you’ll have to come to VKL if they do it in Seattle again!

The great thing about knitters is that they’re so friendly! They’re always ready to give out hugzzz and share in their knowledge. It was great meeting Tammy and a few other new friends I made that night as well! Here are some pictures of the evening as they tell the story better than words ever could!

If you missed this event or don’t live in the Pacific Northwest, don’t despair. TNNA has organized Stitch ‘N Pitch at a number of minor and major league baseball fields. Here is a link to the schedule (still some games coming up) so you can see if there’s one near you – Stitch ‘N Pitch. If there isn’t, why don’t you think about starting one. You can start with a night out with friends at a local event and work up from there!

Hugzzz 😎

P.S. If you see yourself in these photos and would like to be identified, send me an email and let me know who/where you are and I’ll do it!
