Planning for the finish ..

The secret to any successful project implementation is good planning. Knitting a sweater (or any other garment) is very much the same. Unfortunately, it took me years of knitting before I realized this, and as a result, my first few sweaters could have been made a lot better. I’m not lamenting the past, just reflecting on the fact that had I had someone telling me certain things, well, I would definitely have more sweaters that I would be proud of wearing. So it is with this thought in mind that I write this post, and hopefully some of what […]

Round and round we go …

My apologies to everyone who tried to view this in the last few days. My site was down due to an upgrade of the hard drives by my ISP, but unfortunately, the hard drive with my website on it had some issues and needed a recovery from backup files. As a result, my website along with some others were unavailable all weekend. The good news is I’m back! Yeah! So now it’s time to March into spring … sorry, I had to! Even though I’ll be working on an unspringlike project. Remember the sweater that we started designing about […]

Drop the needles … summer is here!

Yes, I know I’m about 4 or 5 days early, but can you really blame me? It’s been so long sine we’ve had a couple weeks of consistent weather that I have to believe that summer will arrive as planned on June 20/21. Just in time for summer as well is a post from Knitfinder on Facebook about a beautiful summer top that they found in a store. It just so happens that in one of the knitting groups I go to we have been talking about reverse engineering a pattern for a few weeks now. I don’t believe […]

Which foot first?

Well, I hope you’re ready to go with the socks, because I am! Let’s do a check before we go though, so that we don’t forget anything. This is a sock knitting tutorial or KAL, and because of that, you don’t have to specifically have sock yarn, but it will be nicer if you do so that at the end you can actually wear the socks you make. I wouldn’t recommend you break the bank on the yarn for this first pair, but once you get used to making socks, you’ll probably want to invest a few more dollars […]

Looking for some help …

Hi there, yes, you’re at the right place. I just decided to change things around a little bit and minimize the site. I hope you like it. So, let me jump right in to today’s post – I need help. I’m working with a friend in Poland to develop some motifs for another upcoming ebook – the first one has been well received and started a snowball that is getting bigger and bigger. The problem I am facing is not being born an octopus. With only 2 hands and 24 hours in a day, I am finding it impossible […]
