Elementary Fashion …

[Translate] You might all remember the stir that was created when Lucy Liu wore that fabulous scarf/cowl on the show Elementary a few weeks back. (Check my pattern Elementary or look back a few posts if you don’t know what I mean). Well, I have to tell you that tonight’s episode has firmly implanted her in my mind as the best dressed actor on television. She was a veritable smorgasbord of fashion – a perpetual runway displaying one fab piece/pieces after the other. Curious – every coat she wore tonight was double breasted! I love that! Not only that, […]

Happy New Year!

[Translate] Wow, where did 2011 go? It seems another year is over and time to start another one. More knitting – yeah! I’ll also be celebrating a full 2 years of having this site next month! Another yeah! So I guess the big thing to do is set some resolutions, right? Well, truthfully, I’m not a big one for resolutions. I like to set goals during the year and then when I reach those I set new ones. I know it sounds like resolutions, but the fact that you don’t do them on the 1st day of the year […]

More Alice!

[Translate] My knitting library has a new favorite item – Alice Starmore’s Aran Knitting. Some of these tips can transition over into other parts of your life as well. Here we go. Get a Library Card – I know that’s not a knitting tip (or it doesn’t seem like one), but it really is. If you really […]

April Fools!

[Translate] It’s amazing what people will believe – isn’t it? Yes, sometimes it’s because the hoax is a very cleverly constructed one, but most of the time it’s because I think people deep down have an inborn naivete that makes mob pranks easier. April Fool’s Day is a perfect opportunity to put such a theory to the test, and apparently, quite a few well known organizations try to do just that every year. With amazing success, I might add. I’m amazed by the number of pranks the BBC has pulled off in the past and can’t wait to hear […]
