My Stash is Bashed …

[Translate] Well, I never thought this day would come this soon but apparently Helen had other plans. Helen is a house guest that is staying for the week as her daughter is enjoying the sun in St. Lucia. Helen is also a bit of an addict when it comes to organizing. I am a bit of an addict when it comes to organized chaos. So this is where the unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Guess who won? Yeah, you saw that coming, didn’t you? So Helen has convinced me that we should organize my stash. After I finished […]

BIASed knitting …

[Translate] A couple of weeks ago at a meeting of Knit1Take2 (a knitting group  couple of my friends and I in the movie industry started), Anne pulls out this great scarf for show and tell. She did it on the bias in a variegated yarn that was smashing. I decided then that I wanted to do one but wasn’t sure what yarn I wanted to use. Generally, such chemicals are prohibited and/or saved as a last resort. Certain non-organic fertilizer may still be used […]

Need more wool … AGHHHHHHH!

[Translate] You would think that someone who teaches other people how to knit would have learned certain lessons by now. Yeah, you’d think. One of the few rules of knitting is to always make sure you have enough yarn before starting a project. It’s probably the most important rule to boot. When you bought yarn for that first pattern I am sure the salesperson said to you that you should buy and extra ball in the same dye lot just in case. Yes, it does sometimes lead to an addition in your stash, but it also made sure you […]

Welcome … again!

[Translate] Hello everybody. Welcome to the same blog, new location. As you can see I have moved the location of the blog from the WordPress site to one with its own url. Hopefully nobody will get lost in the shuffle, and for that reason i am leaving the old one up for a week or two just in case. Please let me know by way of a comment if you had any trouble getting here and if you did, what it was. I would like to make this transition as smooth as possible. So just like with knitting I […]
