For what you ask? Well, for a lot of things! The first and most important is to let you know about the new look of my website. Okay, yeah, I guess you’ve seen it already. Actually, if you followed a link to this post directly, then you might not have. So after you read this one, click on the logo at the top and have a look around. I’d love any feedback on what you think – all comments are appreciated and I will use them to fine tune things. 🙂
It seems like I couldn’t have timed the “renovation” any better, as there’s a pretty big event happening next Saturday, June 18th. It’s World Wide Knit in Public Day! I think this is a great thing as it allows everyone to see just how many knitters there are! I still get a chuckle whenever I’m out knitting in public and someone says something like … “it’s good to see knitting is making a comeback”. We all know it never slowed down, as a matter of fact, it’s constantly increasing, but it’s good to let everyone else know that as well.
So for WKIP day, we’re hosting an event in Vancouver, BC. If you’re in the area, I’d love if you came by and knitted with us for a bit. It’s happening at the Olympic Cauldron in downtown Vancouver, and there will be lots in attendance and even more passers by as this is one of the busiest areas of the city – especially during the summer days! It will happen between 1:00 and 4:00 pm officially, however you’re welcome to come earlier and stay longer if you wish! There will be lots of goodies, prizes and giveaways, a learn to knit/crochet demo, a yarn steal, and fun galore! Be sure to attend if you can. Here is a link to the event on the WKIP site, where you can find out about events happening all over the world or even host your own in your neck of the woods.

To get things started, I’ll be giving away a special surprise to be revealed later. To be eligible, you have to do the following 2 things …
- Join our Close Knit Community – here’s the link … CKC
- Post a picture on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter (any 1 will do but you can do all 3 if you like) of you knitting in public and tag it with #ittakesballstoknit and #kipwithme
The draw for this will happen next Saturday at 10:00 am (PST) and the winner will be announced through the 3 platforms mentioned in step 2 and at our event. Here’s my favorite KIP photo …
Now that that’s out of the way, you’re probably wondering what I’ve been up to over the last few month since last we saw each other. In a word, LOTS!! I’ve finished five sweaters and am now finalizing the patterns to make them available to you shortly. Organizing the photo shoot with models is a little tricky as the weather is a little warmer than necessary for cozy sweaters. I’m working on the design and knitting of a few more as well.
I’m designing something special for a good friend of mine you may have heard of – Kristin Omdahl. If you don’t know her, don’t worry, you will very soon! You can get a peek into her world by clicking on the link! And you can pick up the current issue of Interweave Crochet – she made the front AND back cover! This is her holding up the issue – Summer 2016!
I’m also designing something for these 2 Guys – lol (I’m too funny for my own good) – 2 Guys Yarn Company. I think you’ll lie it when it’s done.
There’s lots more … involving an upcoming podcast, yarn and book reviews (and giveaways), more knitting, and more knitting! Stay tuned folks, we’re just getting stared!
Huge hugzzz 😎
