Ready, Set, Go!

We’re off! This is the first day of the start of the VKAL – VIDEO Knit-A-Long. What makes this different from all the other Knit-A-Long’s out there? The VIDEO!

This is a little like taking a class or workshop for a knitting technique – in this case Introduction to Double Knitting – but a little more than that as well. Along the way there will be tips and techniques that will not only help you get a great grasp of double knitting (knitting a two-sided  or reversible fabric), but will help you with all your regular knitting projects as well. As a matter of fact in the very first video, the cast on will help you way beyond your dalliances in double knitting. You might just learn a new favorite cast on.

It’s also a little like a Mystery Knit-A-Long, as you’ll be getting the pattern bit by bit, so we can all knit along together, and learn together. Plus this will give me the opportunity to show you how to correct mistakes in double knitting, which will also help you correct mistakes in regular knitting! We’re going to look at using stitch markers, lifelines, crochet hooks, and even a knitting thimble! Don’t know what that is? Sign up for the VKAL and find out. Yes, it’s not too late to sign up. The other great thing about this VKAL is that there are 3 main sponsors …

This gives you 3 fantastic options for what you want to knit your cowl in,and endless possibilities in colorways! This is your chance to really make a statement about what you’re all about! And did I mention that all 3 are donating great swag to give away as prizes? Throughout the VKAL we’re giving away great prizes from the sponsors just for participating! And there’s discounts for the yarn as well. Once you sign up for the VKAL you’ll get all the information you need on how to claim that!

This is going to be the best dang VKAL ever!! But it definitely won’t be the last! I can’t wait to see what colors everybody decides to use! You can follow along on Ravelry here …

But don’t take my word for it. Just look at what others say about it in the posts on the group!
