Today I’d like to take the Friday Funnies to another level – but I warn you that society has prepped us to think of this subject as racy, or taboo, or x-rated, or whatever other label you want to put on there. Personally, I think awareness is the best thing that we can have. Apparently knitters have the same such inclinations when talking about and knitting this particular subject as well. I’m talking about a thing that most men spend the first 40 weeks of their life trying to get out of and most of the rest of their lives trying to get back into! Yes, we’re talking about the vagina. The vagina is a very powerful tool that you women have and us men would be in danger if you all decided to wield it with the cunning you could. Ironically, a lot of knitters have found it inspiring enough to knit anatomically correct versions of it. A bit of searching on the internet will provide lots of results of the vagina being knit and crocheted all over the place. I’ll save all the puns and quips for you to post in the comments 😉
Let’s start this out with a little skit about a 6′ knitted vagina. Play the video …
I love the way the vagina was knitted to have Janice’s head anatomically located to show the location of the clitoris. I wonder if she has a problem with people not being able to keep their hands off her vagina? (Sorry, I had to put one in there)! Here are some knitted pillows that could have a variety of uses. These are very realistic and could be used as teaching aids (much like the breasts we saw a while back) or if you have a headache and can’t be bothered, throw one of these at your partner and let them take care of themselves.
I’m kicking myself now for not being able to find it, but the Spring 2010 issue of Vogue Knitting or Interweave knits had an article about a knitted vagina on display in Las Vegas. Now we’re not talking about a little 6′ vagina here, this one was displayed on the ceiling and took up the majority of a good sized room. It was also anatomically correct. If any of you have the issue and information, could you please post it in a comment for me? Thanks.
Here’s an article about a “snatchel” that was knit by Zabet Stewart. Click on the picture to go to her website and the pattern for it!
I’ll leave you this week with a crocheted rendition of the vagina. Unfortunately, the link to the information about the creator was broken or the site has been taken down. She actually did custom orders. Yup, everybody’s getting in on the act!

Hugzzz 😎
