Fall into Knitting …

[Translate] I hope you’ve enjoyed summer where ever you are – and if you’ve been in the UK that week of sunshine that you had in July? I myself have been in Vancouver for a few weeks but mostly in the UK. As luck would have it, I had a fantastic month in Vancouver but missed the said week in the UK. The good news is that I’ll be heading back to Vancouver in time for FALL!! And for the KnitCity yarn festival in early October. And maybe Rhinebeck? Or maybe to Barcelona for a knitting festival there? It’s […]

Color me wowed!!

[Translate] Have you ever seen “Clown Barf”? It’s kinda funny! No, really, it is! Have you ever knit with it? No, it’s not some new fiber developed by the knitting community. Although, it’s creators certainly have the intelligence and background to probably do that! Well, thanks to Nicole and Cordula, (Kalessin and Haramis17 on Ravelry – follow the links to see some of their great works and designs), you can if you want to! And it’s actually much more pleasant than it sounds. Click on this picture to see how. It’s a merino/silk/cashmere lace weight yarn from DyeForWool.   […]

The Knit must go on … …

[Translate] If I can be so bold as to pass on a piece of advice to you it’s this … perform regular backups! Preferably on a weekly schedule, depending on how much information you’re putting on your hard drive. You can delete the previous one after the current one is complete, although I would recommend keeping 2 and on separate drives. Yeah, last week this was my computer … That’s not how you want an iMac to look. It’s really hard seeing websites when it’s in that condition. o_O So yes, my hard drive failed. I think the data […]

It’s Time! …

[Translate] For what you ask? Well, for a lot of things! The first and most important is to let you know about the new look of my website. Okay, yeah, I guess you’ve seen it already. Actually, if you followed a link to this post directly, then you might not have. So after you read this one, click on the logo at the top and have a look around. I’d love any feedback on what you think – all comments are appreciated and I will use them to fine tune things. 🙂 It seems like I couldn’t have timed […]

Come for the knitting, stay for the Pi …

[Translate] Yeah, I had to do it! I mean, it’s not just a regular Pi day today – it’s a Super Pi day! The date is 3.14.15 … Pi to 4 digits! This won’t happen again for another 100 years!! If you’re old enough to be reading this, you probably won’t be around for the next installation – unless of course there’s some great innovations in the medical field by then! So what does Pi have to do with knitting, you ask? Well, it seems this mathematical constant (I won’t go into the history as I’m sure you’ve been […]
