Hey, it’s Friday again – and you know what that means. Time for some haha. This week’s funnies is a relatively short post. I have another cartoon and then a very interesting article from the BBC to show how innovative knitters can be. Here’s the cartoon …

As for the article, here’s an innovative way knitters have found to help out with their skills. In the UK, a hospital was faced with the problem of getting model breasts to help teach new mothers about breast feeding and general breast health. Apparently, the models for purchase 35 British Pounds each, making them too expensive for the hospital, who needed 50 of them. Well, leave it to a knitter to come up with a solution – they knit them some! Using scraps of wool left over from other projects, breasts were knit in various shades for the new moms. The pattern is available online from the Lactation Consultants of Great Britain. Here is the direct link for both the knitted and crocheted pattern:
The knitted pattern is done “flat”, but can be easily modified for in the “round”.

Apparently, these breasts have been around for quite awhile. They have been around since the mid part of last century for the same purpose. They could also be use for mastectomy women who want a more realistic looking option than simple padding for their bras. I could get into more uses for them but I’ll leave that to your imagination and creativity. Well, that all this guy has this week – keeping you “abreast” of what’s happening out there. Sorry, I couldn’t resist! 😉
Hugzzz 😎
