I’m sure you’ve decided you’re going to make a valiant effort to attend Stitches West next year – or at least another major knitting event near you. Even still, I’m going to post once more about Stitches West. With that, there is still a lot that I won’t get to tell you about and I will be doing feature posts on specific vendors in the near future.
However, I haven’t told you about all the phenomenal classes at all levels of knitting/crocheting that are offered at Stitches West and taught by the best instructors in the industry.
I haven’t told you about the demonstrations and opportunities to talk with your knitting idols in a smaller, more intimate setting.
I haven’t told you about all the book signings and photo ops that abound.
I haven’t told you about all the *knitworking* that happens at this event. (Yes, that’s a word! Yes, I made it up! Use it! Do it!)
I can’t possibly describe to you the FUN that happens at Stitches West.
And I haven’t told you about the inspiration and affirmation that happens at Stitches West.
There is so much more and once again I apologize to the vendors, teachers, and participants that I haven’t mentioned. The best way for you to know about them is to go yourself. I promise you it is very much worth the price of admission. And then some!
Here are a few candid shots of Stitches West to wrap up this review …
I liked the name of this shop – ZZ Alpacas – kinda like the Alpha and Omega – and Dave is a great guy who I can now call friend!
Barb and Maridee made sure the Yarnover Truck was there with lots of goodies …
… and decorated with knits!
Loved this sweater on display … too bad it wasn’t in my size … 🙁
Knitters can get up to all kinds of shenanigans when you add alcohol and Cards Against Humanity/Knitters Against Swatches (the faces have been removed to protect the innocent) 😉
Stephen West was seen shopping on the market floor … among other places throughout the weekend.
Signature Needle Arts made sure you got the point …
Beautiful colors and inspiration were to be seen everywhere …
Lickin’ Flames had some magnificent shawl pins on display …
One of the few “allowable” pictures from the pajama party … finish each sentence and post it in the comments 😉
One of the best part of Stitches is making new friends and realizing what a Close Knit Community we are!
I need a different mug for every day of the year … and Amanda from Pawley Studios could probably make me one! *hint, hint*
I don’t think there was a time all weekend when there wasn’t a crowd at Miss Babs …
More and more knitters are getting into weaving …
Lars was there promoting and signing his new book … Modern Lopi …definitely worth getting!
Knitters everywhere were shopping while wearing their wonderful knitted items … like Lisa …
… and Kelly …
and Christine.
And Joelle was knitting whenever she had a spare moment in her booth …
… It’s amazing to see such vivid color transformed from this …
to this!!
There were lots of knockers on display all weekend … these were Gwen Bortner’s … bodacious indeed! 🙂
Erin Lane bags had some great items to make your knitting life easier …
Sometimes you just had to stop and stare to soak it all in … like here at the Diana Couture booth …
… or here to just revel at the wonders of color at North Light Fibers.
If you need a mug with a knit stitch to sip your tea or coffee out of you need to see Charan …
I was delighted to see my good friends Andrea and Andrew from Apple Yarns there!
All in all Stitches West 2016 was a very memorable experience. I’d like to say that from it all the number one thing I took home from it was Community! The sense of belonging and being a part of such a creative and inspiring world is a truly amazing feeling. I hope to bump into you there someday!
Hugzzz 😎
