Well, it appears that the response to Elementary has been much higher than I thought it would have been. Not only are there groups in Ravelry dedicated to the show and the fashion in it, there are all kinds of articles being written about the wardrobe designer of the show – Rebecca Hofherr. While Rebecca concedes that she gets most of the fashion items from regular stores, I think she has an incredible eye and talent to be able to put the individual pieces together as well as she does. She also admits to having Lucy Liu’s input on a lot of the outfits.
Regardless, I think it’s fun reverse engineering something and this show has given me/us lots to think about. Here are some pictures of the Elementary scarf/cowl done in two tones of red – 1 bright and 2 darker. I think it came out well and shows you what can be done with the design.
And going back to previous episodes, perhaps this great double thickness cabled slouchy is next? 😉
