Blognation!

Hey, guess what? If you like knitting blogs, there’s a new site in town where you can go and see a boatload of them. Shoshana, from Wool Is Not Enough, introduced me to this site that is run by Blognation. The site is Knitting Blogs, and is an organization trying to unite all the knitting blogs in one central location. Click on the picture below to go there. You can also get there by clicking on the badge on the right that says Blognation.

I know there have been ideas like this before – remember the rings? – but this one is a little different. The site basically has lists of all the blogs that it has a link to. Each link has a picture (if available) of the blog, and a short description so you know where you’re going. There’s also a boost button at the side so you can give your favorite blogs a little boost. This is just a nice way to say that you like this blog. Another great feature about this site is that the blogs are categorized, so you know the type of blog you’re going to. I’m going to have to get mine changed though …

The best feature is the comments that you can place for each blog. I’m pretty sure this helps to rank the blogs, but more importantly, it gives other viewers an idea of what the blog is really like. That way you’re not just going by search engine optimization software and you may end up browsing to a blog you may never have gotten to before. As I blogger, I also appreciate the comments because it lets me know what I’m doing right and/or wrong, and what you would like to read more about. Or learn.

So if you have a moment, I’d really appreciate if you had a boo at the site, and if you also feel so inclined, I always appreciate comments. Luckily for me my blog is now on the first page so you won’t have far to go to find me, but make sure you check out some of the other ones too.

Hugzzz 😎
