Thank you!

I recently put out a post in the Ravelry Group and echoed it on Facebook asking for knitters for the 2015 scarf calendar. The theme of the calendar is cables, as hinted in the previous post. Needless to say, the response has been overwhelming. Thank you everyone for your support. I will be sorting the responses and responding to them in the next day or two. Please be patient if you haven’t heard back yet. Unfortunately, I only have so much yarn and so many scarves to knit, so I couldn’t choose everyone. For the most part, the choices were based on the order of reception of the emails. I will have more things for test knitters in the very near future and will post requests through the Ravelry group. If you haven’t joined it yet, you can do so here … IT TAKES BALLS TO KNIT (RAVELRY).

Okay, now for something completely different! Most of you know that my favorite thing to knit is cables! I could go on about them for years and not cover everything. But, I also love many other aspects of knitting – including color work. So this is just a little teaser post about that. I have been trying to get a project started for over 5 years now – yes, 5 years!! Thankfully, recently, the last piece of the puzzle fell into place. As you might have guessed, it involves color work. As a matter of fact, here is a swatch of 36 rows x 176 stitches.

Over the next little while, as I fill you in on the details of the project, I’ll use this swatch to discuss some cool topics in knitting … like 2-handed fair isle, steeks, design, knitting in the round, gauge, and more. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Hugzzz 😎
