I have a reputation to uphold! So what do I decide to do? Frog it! Any by it, I actually mean them. Remember my Jamaican Gold sweater? Yeah, the one I didn’t finish in time for the knitting Olympics? Well, I’ve decided that I’m going to frog it and start that over. Why? Well, I was using black as a main color, then going to offset it with white and use the yellow and green near the top. Well, I now think that white should be the main color bordering the colors of the flag – black, green, and gold. I’m also not perfectly happy with using the yarn as a two ply so I’m going to do a swatch with it as a 4-ply and a 3-ply. Yeah, maybe I’ll have it finished in time for the next knitting Olympics! Just kidding, but it will be a little while before it’s done.

I also started a sweater for myself using the Rowan Cashsoft that I purchased over the holidays. I’m designing one for a friend using this yarn so I decided I’d use myself as a practice. So I did a swatch and decided I liked the way it looked. The problem was that I when I started making the sweater I used the wrong needles! I have some Crystal Palace circulars (my absolute favorite) that unfortunately have the sizing worn off. I took up the one I thought was the right one and didn’t notice until after 2 balls that they weren’t the right one (the first ball took up most of the ribbing). So I frogged about 4 hours of work and restarted the sweater with the smaller needles (the right ones). Now well into my 6th ball, I’m certain I won’t have enough for the sweater. I have a couple of options. I can try and get more yarn (I have been doing this with no success) or I can frog it and make it smaller or I can frog it and can the project altogether. I don’t think I’ll find more yarn, so I’m frogging it. I’m not sure if I’ll still try and make myself something in it or just make the one for my friend that I was planning on in the beginning. I have 30 balls of the black which should be more than sufficient. I’m just not certain how the cable I’m planning on putting in will look in black. Do I really want to swatch that? Don’t know …

Oh well, tomorrow’s Monday and the start of a new week. I’ll figure it out in my sleep and let you know what I decide. On a positive note I had fun showing everybody my 0.7mm 60″ circular needles today. Too bad i didn’t have an answer for the obvious question – “What are you going to knit with those”? I’ll have to try and figure it out or I may just end up using them for toothpicks!

Hugzzz 😎

Wow, I have so many thing to knit and yet I can’t decide on what to knit!
