What exactly is that anyway? I don’t think there’s anything “normal” about me at all. However, with the first part of the Olympics over, I think that I may be able to find some sort of routine to my days again – maybe. I’m not promising anything as the Paralympics start tomorrow and I have my own gold medal to win by finishing my sweater I started way back when. It’s funny, because I really can knit a sweater in a week, but the design was more difficult than I thought, dyeing the yarn took longer than I thought, and there were waaaay more distractions that I anticipated. Okay, that’s all the whining you’ll hear from me for a while. So, aside from the sweater (which really will be my main focus), you may ask what else is on my many needles. Quick segway … One day (actually over a few days), I might want to try and cast on a project on every pair of needles I own and then go about finishing them – that would be kinda scary and cool at the same time – actually more scary than cool!

So, what’s on my needles and/or in my UFO bin? I saw a really neat sidebar on another blog that had this exact title and then a bunch of pictures of her UFOs (she’s as bad as me I think) so I’ll have to learn to do that as well as it’s a great idea. When I do it I’ll give her the credit for the idea. Sorry – my needles. Okay – list form s the easiest way;

I have a hood that a friend asked me to design and knit in fingering weight yarn (so I’m using Kroy Socks). It’s like a neck warmer, but with a hood so you can pull it up when you want, or leave it down. It’s actually proving to be a little more difficult than I had originally imagined, but I will persevere.

I had a book reserved at the library for over a month now, 2 At-a-time Socks, by Melissa Morgan-Oakes, that arrived last Saturday. Looking back, I’m not sure why I reserved it, because I’m not a huge fan of sock knitting. I’m sorry, I know I just lost a chunk of you following me, but I’ve always been a more practical knitter. I’m stepping out of that though, and doing a lot more experimenting ( I love to experiment!). So instead of doing a regular sock pattern and doing them one at a time, I decided to challenge myself and do both at the same time. Chris will appreciate this as it’s something that’s being voted on in his KAL. BTW Chris, I’ll knit both these and the boxers for that! You never know, I might like socks after finishing this.

Alli’s sweater – I HAVE to finish this soon. I am now officially giving myself until 4 days after the arrival of my labels. Once they are here, I’ll be able to sew them on the sweater and ship it out!

Anne’s coat – I have until the end of the year to finish this but wanted to get it done so she could wear it now. Unfortunately I have been way too busy and the weather has been way too warm anyway. I mean, we justhad the spring Olympics here! Iwill get to this though – tomorrow – tomorrow, tomorrow never comes, what kind of a fool do they think I am? (Kudos and a skein of yarn to anyone who knows where this reference is from!)

My Shawl collared pullover

I really should finish this!

– Yikes, this is embarrassing as there’s probably only a couple of hours of work left on this. I have to steam some yarn to straighten it out so I can finish it, but this should have been done ages ago!

Fingerless beaded gloves – I guess they’re not really gloves if they don’t have fingers, but I’ve designed a pair of them anyway – with beads for Swallow hill Creations. Now I just have to knit them and write out a pattern and then hope Shirley likes them!

My Cable Guy sweater – started last year and I ran out of wool. I’ll have to get more early next week and try and finish them this month.

There may be more but I’m getting dizzy just thinking about these. So, 7 or more projects on my needles and more coming faster than I can finish them. Yup, just as I said – back to normalcy!

Hugzzz 😎

Normalcy? What exactly is that anyway?
