The forecast for the next week or so is rain, but we can’t complain as we have had the driest summer on record in 116 years! I, for one, am glad to hear that fall is making it’s appearance though. Even though the temperatures have dipped a bit, it’s been hard getting into the rhythm of knitting with sunshine, blue skies, and temperatures in the higher teens over the last little while. Seeing as we didn’t know how long it was going to last, each day was treated as a blessing and regular fall activities took the hit. For me it meant that some of my knitting time was reduced. Not good seeing as I’m trying to finish the last few scarves for the 2013 calendar ( still pretty sure the Mayans were wrong).

So now it’s time to bring out the needles full time and get some serious knitting done. I like the way the next calendar is looking and I’ve been able to mix the difficulty levels on the patterns from beginner to advanced. Most knitters will be able to do about 70% of them and the rest can be a goal to look forward to.This is also a reminder that sales of the calendar have started. They’re $19.95 + $5 S&H right now until November 1st. Then the price increases by $5. If you think the price is high remember that you’re getting all the patterns in print on the actual calendar this year! There’s also some giveaways for early orders and that way you’ll be sure to get them before Christmas!

In terms of everything else, I hope you’ve started knitting whatever you’re planning on for Christmas, as before you know it, it will be upon us. We just celebrated Thanksgiving last weekend here in Canada and that’s usually the signal for the knitting to get under way in earnest. What’s on your needles right now? Are you planning on knitting for Christmas? Believe it or not, I usually don’t. I know, that’s probably a shocker, but the reality of it is that I have a lot of people who would love to get something knit from me for Christmas. Unfortunately though I only have 2 hands so I find it easier to not knit for the holidays. The special people in my life get goodies from time to time.

Well, whatever you’re working on right now I hope you have fun knitting it. If you’re like me you probably have a few different projects to work on and jump back and forth between them. However you do it, happy knitting!

Hugzzz 😎

Well, after a very long and delightful summer, it appears that fall has arrived here in Vancouver.
