Apparently this blog hit 60 views today! And I almost finished a sweater to boot! So my day on set ended up being a little busier than I had wanted – I hate actually having to work – and I didn’t get to finish the sweater. Its close though. I have one sleeve to finish sewing up and one side. That’s one down and how many more to go …

As I mentioned earlier, I was going to post late today because I was at work most of the day. I had a couple of posts set up for just such an occurrence, but ended up using them already. Tie to store up some more. Today’s is about finishing – I’m actually quite pleased that this sweater is so close to being finished. As I discussed in a previous article, my Area 51 is quite large and I’m working on reducing its size considerably. Anne’s coat will probably the first item that goes from the list of UFO’s to FO’s. I don’t think that I will actually ever finish everything though as I am a firm believer that unless you have a few projects on the go you’re not a full-on knitter. Its also a great way to relieve any boredom that may come from an uninspiring project. I personally prefer challenging patterns so as to prevent this, but eventually you get the gist of any repetition and eventually you can look at the stitches to figure out the next one in the pattern. This is always a bitter-sweet part of a pattern for me. You’re delighted that you don’t have to look at the pattern anymore but kind of disappointed that you already have it figured out. I know – I’m kinda wierd.

The almost finished Geurnsey ... anybody fit a men's medium?

I find designing entirely different though. Even for a simple stocking stitch pattern you’re filled with an anticipation all the way through. I find I can’t get to the end soon enough to see if the pattern actually works out and to see what the finished product will look like. Don’t tell anyone, but I actually kind of like having to frog a design and redo parts of it. I’m sure after a couple hundred sweaters and swatches I’ll get over this though. So here’s a picture of the sweater almost done. I’m going to watch Fringe and finish it right after this post. As soon as I find a model for it I’ll post a picture of that for you to see. Now I’m kind of regretting not making this one to fit me. Oh well, there’s 12 more in the book … Talk to you soon.

Hugzzz 😎

Wow, what a day!
