Barrington is here!

The pattern for Barrington is finally live! This is without question, my favourite design to date, and I’m sure it will be at or near the top for quite some time. Why? Well, the story behind Barrington is a long one. It actually started very soon after I learned to knit. It was at this time that I discovered my fascination with cables!! While I love almost every aspect of knitting, cables remain my favourite thing to create. I have a difficult time creating something without a cable in there somewhere–you’ve probably noticed that. A little while back, I […]

Thank you!

I recently put out a post in the Ravelry Group and echoed it on Facebook asking for knitters for the 2015 scarf calendar. The theme of the calendar is cables, as hinted in the previous post. Needless to say, the response has been overwhelming. Thank you everyone for your support. I will be sorting the responses and responding to them in the next day or two. Please be patient if you haven’t heard back yet. Unfortunately, I only have so much yarn and so many scarves to knit, so I couldn’t choose everyone. For the most part, the choices […]

Knitting in the Shadows …

Shadow Knitting may be new to you, but I assure you it’s been around for awhile. I myself have done a few posts on it in the past, and there’s lots of information about it all over. There’s books (search Vivian Hoxboro), groups (check Ravelry), and videos (look on You Tube). This post is about breaking it down a bit and hopefully giving you the courage to try it yourself. It’s an extremely simple thing to do once you make a chart as it’s only knits and purls. It can be done in 1 or 2 colors (or more […]

A is for Apple Yarns!

If you haven’t seen it yet, the newest episode of the show  is up – An Apple A Day! You can click on the link at the end of this post to go there. Recently ITBTK went to Washington State to visit one of my favorite LYS owners, Andrea, in her store, Apple Yarns. If you’ve never been, you really have to go. They have just been named an official tourist destination and currently have signage on the street to point the way, and will soon have signs on the highway  to make sure you know where you are. […]

Getting back to normal?

No way! To coin a line from a very famous film … “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore” … I want to thank everybody for the patience they’ve shown as we go through the growing pains of working out the kinks in the production and distribution of this new show. Unfortunately, my posting has suffered a little as it has been extremely difficult finding the time to deal with the issues that have arisen and still maintain any amount of normalcy in my everyday routine. I’d like to say though, that things are looking a lot better, and […]
