Hmmmmm….

I’ve been looking at the comments from the current VKAL I have going and I’ve noticed 2 things … 1) The people doing it are having a great time and really enjoying it. They like the yarn, the color choices, and the pattern and are saying this double knitting thing is awesome! They’re surprised at how easy it is and are wondering why they haven’t done it before! 2) A lot of people NOT doing it are liking the pattern and wishing they could do it too! Number 1 is great, and gives me a very warm and fuzzy […]

VKAL!!

What’s a VKAL you ask? Well, it’s a VIDEO Knit-A-Long! What’s a VIDEO Knit-A-Long you ask? It’s a Knit-A-Long with video support – a lot of video support! Think of it as getting a bunch of lessons AND a pattern AND giveaways and FUN! We’re going to be stating a Knit-A-Long for the Barrington 5.0. I know, the 4.0 isn’t even out yet! It will be soon, but I wanted to spread the news about this VKAL now, to get things ready for it’s launch right after Stitches West! So here’s the plan … the Barrington 5.0 is done […]

The Show Must Go On ….

It has been a while since my last post and that means there’s a lot to catch up on and get ahead of. So without further delay, let’s jump right in to the first thing on the list! As you may know, I have an online show that I started in October of last year. I made 10 episodes of the show before funding ran out. There’s actually another episode ready to go as well. So I’m writing this post because I need your help. I’ve started an Indiegogo (crowd funding) campaign to raise $25,000 to continue producing the […]

Knitting in the Shadows … Part III

Wool you be my Valentine? Late you say? No, it’s not at all. This is a special Valentine’s going out to everyone – coupled or not. I hope you agree that “love” shouldn’t be celebrated on 1 day of the year – but the whole way through.  It’s also the wrap up of the Shadow Knitting posts I’ve been doing this week. If you’ve been doing the rings I’d like to suggest that you try and pattern the rest of it on your own using the chart that I gave you. It’s a nifty exercise and you should be […]

Knitting in the Shadows … Part II

If you missed the first part of Shadow or Illusion knitting, you’ll want to scroll down the page and read that post before jumping into this one, or you’ll be a little confused. In the last post we talked about what Illusion Knitting was and how you create the effect of stripes and a graphic in your knitting when viewed at different angles. Today we’re actually going to chart the graphic of the Olympic rings that we were looking at. In actuality, it’s already charted. What we need to do now is clean up the chart (fix and stray […]
