Barrington is here!

[Translate] The pattern for Barrington is finally live! This is without question, my favourite design to date, and I’m sure it will be at or near the top for quite some time. Why? Well, the story behind Barrington is a long one. It actually started very soon after I learned to knit. It was at this time that I discovered my fascination with cables!! While I love almost every aspect of knitting, cables remain my favourite thing to create. I have a difficult time creating something without a cable in there somewhere–you’ve probably noticed that. A little while back, […]

All we need is hugzzz … and CABLES!!

[Translate] Well, it’s been an exciting, interesting, informative, reflective, saddening, and emotional (yes, there are more I could add) few months in the online knitting community, hasn’t it?! If you’re unaware of what I’m talking about, head over to Instagram or Ravelry, and scroll through your feed. I’m sure in no time at all you’ll come across the “conversation” that has been going on. If you’re not following me on Instagram, you can do so, and you’ll see mention of it in my feed. I’m going to bypass a summary for the time being, but I will be visiting […]

Keep Calm and Knit on!

[Translate] There’s a tradition that has become a staple in the lives of many knitters when the Olympics come around. Even though the IOC tried to ban it and had the unofficial “official” name changed, us knitters are a pesky lot and still carry on the not to be named tradition of casting on a new project during the opening ceremonies of the games with the goal of casting it off before the culmination of said games. Well, this year is no different and I urge you to “compete” by challenging yourself to this very task. It doesn’t have […]

Hmmmmm….

[Translate] I’ve been looking at the comments from the current VKAL I have going and I’ve noticed 2 things … 1) The people doing it are having a great time and really enjoying it. They like the yarn, the color choices, and the pattern and are saying this double knitting thing is awesome! They’re surprised at how easy it is and are wondering why they haven’t done it before! 2) A lot of people NOT doing it are liking the pattern and wishing they could do it too! Number 1 is great, and gives me a very warm and […]

30 Day Sweater …

[Translate] Fall is absolutely the best time of the year for knitters! Not only is the weather perfect for cozy, warm sweaters, but you get tons of inspiration from the colors of nature at this time of the year. There’s also some major events going on around now. In North America, we’re preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving, Hallowe’en, and Rememberance day as well, and VKL Chicago and Stitches East in Connecticut is one week later. But this year, fall is extra special. Not only are we putting up the first episode of our new show It Takes Balls To Knit […]
