Knitting Olympics

Finished!

[Translate] Well, I won’t get a gold medal in the knitting Olympics because I have been too distracted by the real thing! Vancouver has a set of rings that are normally blue, but go gold when we win a gold medal. We did that twice today and came within inches of getting a third! Okay, but before I get into the update there, I’m pleased to announced I have another FO! I decided to make my Adam’s Rib sweater a little longer so after I had finished the sleeves I undid the cast off edge. Normally this would be […]

A new week …

[Translate] I must apologize for not putting up a post on Friday and Sunday, but the Olympic fever has hit Vancouver full on. I truly believe the entire world has landed at YVR and have flooded the city. There is no way I can describe the sheer mass of people that have invaded the city streets. Getting around downtown has become an adventure, and there is still one week to go. I simply had to take some time to go and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Winter Olympics. You would never know they’re the winter Olympics though […]

Knitting Olympics Update …

As for the knitting Olympics, I hope you’re farther ahead than I am! I still have to cast on my first stitches! I have finally dyed all the yarn and am happy with the colors. I have also dyed some red and blue as well, so if I have any left over after the sweater is made, I’ll have all the Olympic colors to make something for the […]

Gold here we come …

[Translate] Canada has won its first gold medal at an Olympic event on home soil ever. While there was never any doubt it would happen, we were all wondering who would do it. Now the excitement is to see how many we will actually win. Amongst some of our other strengths, the Martin team is striving for gold in Men’s Curling. They’ had a fantastic first match against Norway, winning 7-6. After making a huge mistake in the 5th end and giving up three, they were able to blank it through to the 9th end where they scored 1 […]

Jamaican Pride at the Winter Olympics!

I have recently found out that Jamaica – my birth country – has a freestyle skier competing in the games. So I intend to design and knit a Jamaican Pride sweater for the Knitting Olympics to commemorate this fact.
