Elementary accessory ….

[Translate] By far, my favorite winter accessory is the scarf. It has almost as many different looks as you’ll find anywhere in knitting, and can be used to teach virtually any technique. As I have mentioned before, I like making scarves as “swatches” so that I have a better idea of what a design idea will look like, and also when the sweater is finished I have a matching scarf. If you’ve been following this site for any time, you probably have seen the Elementary Scarf I made last year after reverse engineering one that Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) […]

Ashley is here …

[Translate] So, ever since I published the pattern for Elementary, I was asked to make a pattern for the slouchie that Lucy wears on the show as well. I’d like to announce that I have a pattern that I am 100% satisfied with. Creating it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would have been. The pattern is written with 1 set of instructions, but there is advice on how you can change the size […]

While Rebecca concedes that she gets most of the fashion items from regular stores, I think she has an incredible eye and talent to be able to put the individual pieces together as well as she does. She also admits to having Lucy Liu’s input […]

Elementary Fashion …

[Translate] You might all remember the stir that was created when Lucy Liu wore that fabulous scarf/cowl on the show Elementary a few weeks back. (Check my pattern Elementary or look back a few posts if you don’t know what I mean). Well, I have to tell you that tonight’s episode has firmly implanted her in my mind as the best dressed actor on television. She was a veritable smorgasbord of fashion – a perpetual runway displaying one fab piece/pieces after the other. Curious – every coat she wore tonight was double breasted! I love that! Not only that, […]
