And onward we go …

[Translate] Hello all, I hope you had a great holiday season. After all the panic around the Mayan calendar, it’s great to learn it was only a flipping on the page of the calendar and not the end of the world! And now it’s a new year and a new start or a great continuation, if your 2012 was a good one. So before I get into the first post of 2013, I need to update a few things. The first is the 2013 Calendar. Yes, it’s coming out and for those of you who have already ordered one, […]

And the winner is …

[Translate] Last month I released my first ebook – Untangling cables – about multiple strand braids. It is a 16 page book detailing everything you need to know to create multiple strand braids of any number, limited only by the length of your needles. The book has been well received and I humbly thank everyone who has purchased it for their wonderful comments, and informative critique and feedback. With the release of the ebook, there was also a contest for everyone who purchased it to be entered into a draw to receive some yarn from my stash. I originally […]

Looking for some help …

[Translate] Hi there, yes, you’re at the right place. I just decided to change things around a little bit and minimize the site. I hope you like it. So, let me jump right in to today’s post – I need help. I’m working with a friend in Poland to develop some motifs for another upcoming ebook – the first one has been well received and started a snowball that is getting bigger and bigger. The problem I am facing is not being born an octopus. With only 2 hands and 24 hours in a day, I am finding it […]

Time to shop …

[Translate] No, not me – you. As promised, I have completed the ebook I was working on for cabled braids. I’m doing a self-review here until I get a few comments from the people who get a copy and comment on it. Admittedly, when I started this ebook, I was simply going to write out the patterns for a 12 and 24 or 32-strand cable, as that was what a lot of people were asking for. As I got involved in working out the math formulas for the braids though, I realized this wasn’t as complex as it sounded […]

Eureka!

[Translate] As promised, I have a pattern for a cable braid of 12 strands. Better than that though, I have worked out several mathematical relationships between the number of strands, number of stitches, number of rows, and even the number of extra purl stitches needed to account for the edge strands. I also made another discovery that is really exciting. If you have a 16 strand braid for example, it will also include all the other braids before it (14, 12, 10, etc) , it inside it. You have to be careful though, as you have to also account […]
