That time of year ….

[Translate] This is the time of year that most people refer to as the “Dog Days of Summer”. Most knitters don’t think of knitting in the heat (except those in the Southern Hemisphere who are enjoying winter) and I used to be among this group. There are actually lots of great things to knit in the summer to keep you cool, and definitely in the evenings it’s a great time to unwind during those long summer nights. Today is also July 25th, or as it is getting to be known as, Christmas in July! That’s right, Christmas is only […]

Happy Holidays …

[Translate] ‘Twas the night before Christmas And the needles were clicking Even over the chatter you could hear The tick, tick, tick, ticking As it seemed that Santa’s elves Had forgotten a huge list And some good boys and girls Were going to be missed Now the knitters and crocheters Couldn’t stand idly by As no one wanted to see anyone With a tear in their eye With patterns from Franklin, Melissa, Jenny,  Hugzzz and many more The crafters  purchased fiber From their local yarn store So now in the house When you looked all around Knitted and crocheted […]

Well, for me, this is a great opportunity to give a knitter something that they need but may not even think about getting for themselves. This would be something like books, magazines, and/or tools. All of the above make great gifts for knitters. Here’s a few thoughts about each of those you may like. Books: […]

Fall into a rhythm …

[Translate] Well, after a very long and delightful summer, it appears that fall has arrived here in Vancouver. The forecast for the next week or so is rain, but we can’t complain as we have had the driest summer on record in 116 years! I, for one, am glad to hear that fall is making it’s appearance though. Even though the temperatures have dipped a bit, it’s been hard getting into the rhythm of knitting with sunshine, blue skies, and temperatures in the higher teens over the last little while. Seeing as we didn’t know how long it was […]
