Tis the Season …

[Translate] Well, with less than a week until Christmas Day, I’m sure all you knitters are busy finishing up last minute gifts for everybody on your lists. The thing is, what do you give to people who are knitters that are on your list? Well, for me, this is a great opportunity to give a knitter something that they need but may not even think about getting for themselves. This would be something like books, magazines, and/or tools. All of the above make great gifts for knitters. Here’s a few thoughts about each of those you may like. Books: […]

Baby steps …

[Translate] Well, more of a crawl, really. Yup, the Yarn Harvest has begun and we went out yesterday in the hopes of getting through 9 of the 16 stores on the list. We made a valiant effort, but only got to 7, so we’ll tackle the rest today. If you’re in the lower mainland and haven’t heard about the crawl, its not too late, and you can still get in on the fun! If you’ve never been on a crawl before, you should check in your community and see if there’s one planned. If not, you should consider just […]

Texture of the Week …

[Translate] Well, this new year has started out a little slowly for me on the blogging front – for that I am sorry. Unfortunately I have been spending way too much time trying to recover my hard drive. As fate would have it, the drive with my backup has stopped spinning and I can’t do a recover from there. It just makes you want to scream! Oh well, I haven’t stopped knitting and have decided it’s time to take a break from that and write a post already – especially if I want to keep my resolution of 4 […]

Hi Andrea!

[Translate] Okay, so this post is all about Andrea and her group that she has started in Fort Langley. Last night I went aaaaaaaaaall the way to Fort Langley  to meet up with a friend that I had never met. Funny though, she’s rather cheeky on Facebook and the phone, but really a marshmallow in person. Anyway, I met Andrea through another friend who suggested to her that she got to know me as I’m a knitter as well. I’m not sure I’m going to  hang out with that friend anymore! Just kidding. Anyway, Andrea goes to the Fort […]

World Cup of Knitting!

[Translate] For the next 31 days, almost the entire world will be focused on South Africa for the FIFA World Cup of Football (soccer for stubborn North Americans). As an homage to the most popular sport in the world, I am launching a World Cup of Knitting (or Crocheting). Seeing as this post will go up just before/after the first match kicks off, you’re probably just in time to get going on it. It will be much like the Knitting Olympics, but with a small twist. In the kitting Olympics you simply had to knit something that was a […]
