Thank You …

I’m not sure what’s happening in whichever part of the world you’re in, but today in Canada it’s Thanksgiving Day. It usually means turkey, lots of root vegetables, brussel sprouts, pumpkin pie, and family. It also means recalling whatever you’re thankful for ans saying thanks for it. This is the first year in quite a while where I haven’t cooked a turkey and had friends over for the usual feast. I would like to instead do a special post to say what I am thankful for with relation to knitting – this is a knitting blog after all. My […]

Friday Funnies …

The question I get asked most often when people see me knitting is “What made you get into knitting”? Well, my answer is simple but a bit lengthy (plus I’m sure I’ve told you before – check out the Hugzzz page if you don’t know) so I won’t get into it here. However, there is another common question that has multiple answers … “How do you know you’re a knitter”? Here’s a few answers (I just wrote down thoughts and found that I’m guilty of most of these)… send me some of yours for a future post (remember there’s […]

YINK – Yarn I’ll Never Knit

I was in one of the forums I belong to on Ravelry today and I saw this term – YINKs – Yarn I’ll Never Knit. My first thought was what a great term, which was quickly followed by have I got a lot of yinks! This gave me a great idea for what to do with my yinks. I’m going to put up a new gallery on this site that’s called yinks and it will have quite a bit of my yinks in there. Now truthfully, I won’t just dump all my acrylics in there (I have to keep […]

Ebook contest …

I was listening to a webinar for a venture I’m involved in, and the topic of being creative in different aspects of life came up. In particular, there was the comment about being creative when trying to generate revenue. I thought about it and came up with a contest involving the ebook. If you don’t know, I have an ebook on this site about braids. Actually, just go to my last post and it’s all explained there. You can get a copy of it for $8, through this link – Untangling Braids – or by going to the products […]

Back to normalcy?

Normalcy? What exactly is that anyway? I don’t think there’s anything “normal” about me at all. However, with the first part of the Olympics over, I think that I may be able to find some sort of routine to my days again – maybe. I’m not promising anything as the Paralympics start tomorrow and I have my own gold medal to win by finishing my sweater I started way back when. It’s funny, because I really can knit a sweater in a week, but the design was more difficult than I thought, dyeing the yarn took longer than I […]
