Heel yeah!

[Translate] Alright, now we’re getting somewhere! Have you test fitted your sock? If it’s for you, make sure you do. You should be able to pull it over your foot quite easily. It should also come to about where your leg meets the top of your foot. If you’re there, you’re ready to do the heel. If not, knit a few more rounds until you are. Here’s what mine look like … Actually, that’s not my foot and this isn’t for me, but you get the idea. So now it’s heel time! Well, not actually. There are lots of ways […]

Ruffle Some Feathers …

[Translate] It seems that every fall there is a new novelty scarf to be made. It usually takes just a ball of yarn and makes a quick (relatively), inexpensive Christmas gift. Or just something to wrap around your neck and complement whatever you’re wearing.Well, this season is no different. This year seems to be the year of the ruffled scarf. Quite a few manufacturers have come out with a ribbon-like yarn that has what appears to be ladders on the top of it that run parallel with the ribbon. Starting the KAL

[Translate] Hmmm … you know that saying about the best laid plans? Well, I’m afraid this summer top KAL is one such situation. I went to the store today to have a look at the top and I have to say I was totally disappointed. As a matter of fact, I’m trying to figure out how they got the picture to look so good! Yes, in real life the garment does not look nearly as good as the picture. could we have been duped? Perhaps. But all is not lost. I still intend to go ahead with the KAL, […]

Well This is Embarrassing …

[Translate] So, yeah … I’ve been running a contest for over a week now and my stats tell me that lots of people have viewed the post, yet there are very few who have entered. As a result, the amount of money raised that will be donated to a charity is very small. At this point its under $100. Yes, that’s good news for the few that are in as their odds of winning one of the two sets of needles are much better, but it’s not so great for the charity or non-profit organization that will benefit from it. […]

Tuesday’s Tips …

[Translate] Yikes, I almost missed this post. With yesterday being Thanksgiving here in Canada, today felt like a Monday rather than a Tuesday. So I guess the first tip for this week is to check your calendar when you wake up – especially the day after a holiday! At least, I should … So then, here are the tips for this week. And keeping with Thanksgiving, I have gotten each tip from someone else and am now giving acknowledgment and thanks to them and for their tip (even if they didn’t know ). Twist and Tie – I consider […]
