Round and round we go …

My apologies to everyone who tried to view this in the last few days. My site was down due to an upgrade of the hard drives by my ISP, but unfortunately, the hard drive with my website on it had some issues and needed a recovery from backup files. As a result, my website along with some others were unavailable all weekend. The good news is I’m back! Yeah! So now it’s time to March into spring … sorry, I had to! Even though I’ll be working on an unspringlike project. Remember the sweater that we started designing about […]

Sweater Designs … from the cuff …

I started knitting because I wanted to be able to have an idea of a sweater and be able to make it in any color or fiber I wanted. While I have come to learn that it isn’t that simple, the actual process isn’t that far from that. If you’re patient, persistent, and pretty good with simple, repetitive calculations, you can design and make a sweater pretty easily. Of course, the more complex you want the sweater, the more difficult it will be to design and make it. I’ll go through the basics of designing and making a sweater […]

Drop the needles … summer is here!

Yes, I know I’m about 4 or 5 days early, but can you really blame me? It’s been so long sine we’ve had a couple weeks of consistent weather that I have to believe that summer will arrive as planned on June 20/21. It just so happens that in one of the knitting groups I go to we have been talking about reverse engineering a pattern for a few weeks now. I don’t believe […]

Interchangeable Circulars cont’d …

Well, It’s June 1st, and only three weeks to summer. Will Spring ever get here? I don’t know, but there have been a few spring like days lately, so maybe it’s here. It’s ironic that the planet as a whole is experiencing global warming and yet it seems colder than ever! I just wish this cold would go back to the poles where it’s needed to keep the ice caps intact! Wait, this is a knitting blog, right? So I guess I’d better get back to knitting and stop whining about the temperatures, huh? So we were talking about […]

sHrUG it off …

About 2 months ago I released my Untangling Cables ebook on this site and I would like to thank everybody that has bought a copy. I truly hope that there was something in there that you found informative. I have had lots of very positive feedback and suggestions about it. One of those suggestions was to put a project pattern in it. As it turns out, I was at my Sunday group with the burnt orange “swatch” from it and Sylvia suggested that it could be turned into a shrug. I liked the idea and ended up giving the […]
