Thank You …

[Translate] I’m not sure what’s happening in whichever part of the world you’re in, but today in Canada it’s Thanksgiving Day. It usually means turkey, lots of root vegetables, brussel sprouts, pumpkin pie, and family. It also means recalling whatever you’re thankful for ans saying thanks for it. This is the first year in quite a while where I haven’t cooked a turkey and had friends over for the usual feast. Fibres West

[Translate] Today I had the pleasure of attending Fibres West in Abbottsford with my good friend Karen. This was the 2nd edition of this show, since the first one last year was such a great hit. The show focuses on many of the fibre arts including knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, basketry, quilting, embellishments, and more. Upon entering we were immediately impressed at the vastness of the space that housed the exhibit. We decided we needed a plan and so decided to do a lap of the premises before buying anything. Adam's Rib …

[Translate] Madam, I’m Adam. As well as possibly being the first words spoken by one person to another, the previous sentence is an example of a Palindrome. It reads the same forward and backwards. In knitting, its a reversible fabric. It can get really challenging when you’re doing it with cables, but very simple when you’re doing a rib. Most ribs are reversible, but they’re not exact palindromes as they’re not exactly the same on the reverse. A 2×2 rib is a true palindrome as it is the same on both sides.
