Inspirational Wonderment!

[Translate] The variety that exists in our industry is second to none. Even if we restrict this discussion to just knitting, I could go on endlessly on all the facets there are. To get a small example of this, you need only go to Ravelry and see how many little sects there are. The last time I was there, it was over 35,000 groups. And this is just on Ravelry! Yes, I am aware that there are overlaps, but needless to say, if you have a particular niche that you want to explore, you can probably find someone else […]

The Bright World of Wool …

[Translate] This past weekend, we had the 3 installment of Knit City here in Vancouver and it was the best one yet! I took some photos and will have a review about it later this week, but I want to send a shout out to an amazing pair of artists that were there in this post. Nikki and Melissa are 2 fibre artists that live here in Salmon Arm, BC. If you’ve never been there, you’ll definitely want to check it out. To say it is picturesque is a bit of an understatement. Friday Funnies … Let’s Eat!

[Translate] There are almost as many different aspects to knitting as there are people that knit. On Fridays, we take a look at the funny, odd, and/or unique aspects of knitting – which usually means going a little bit into left field to investigate some of those aspects. Today is no exception. Now I have to tell you I am a foodie – I love to cook and eat food. Never though, would I ever think of knitting it. It’s probably a good thing that not everybody thinks like me otherwise we wouldn’t have this post today. Apparently quite […]

Fibres West

[Translate] Today I had the pleasure of attending Fibres West in Abbottsford with my good friend Karen. This was the 2nd edition of this show, since the first one last year was such a great hit. The show focuses on many of the fibre arts including knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, basketry, quilting, embellishments, and more. Upon entering we were immediately impressed at the vastness of the space that housed the exhibit. We decided we needed a plan and so decided to do a lap of the premises before buying anything. The were many displays for spinning and […]
