Cables of color …

[Translate] I have been a little quiet these past few months, so it’s time to start talking again, so to speak. It has been very busy and it always surprises me when I look up and realize that another day has gone by, which turns into another week, then month, and before you know it, we’re all celebrating Christmas and the New Year! Well, I have a few posts to get in before then, so I’ll start by continuing where I left off and give a little preview at the same time … Color can be a wonderful thing […]

Those Calendar Men!

[Translate] The boys are back in town! Well, the calendar boys that is! Actually, the calendar MEN! That’s right, it’s time for the 2015 It Takes Balls To Knit Scarf Calendar. Once again this year we have a 13 month calendar featuring  13 scarves, 13 patterns, 13 men, and not much else. This year we are also featuring guest designer Laura Patterson of Fiber Dreams who has designed 5 of the scarves in the calendar. Also this year, we have partnered with Kollage Yarns, who have generously supplied all the yarn for the scarves in the calendar. The scarves […]

Thank you!

[Translate] I recently put out a post in the Ravelry Group and echoed it on Facebook asking for knitters for the 2015 scarf calendar. The theme of the calendar is cables, as hinted in the previous post. Needless to say, the response has been overwhelming. Thank you everyone for your support. I will be sorting the responses and responding to them in the next day or two. Please be patient if you haven’t heard back yet. Unfortunately, I only have so much yarn and so many scarves to knit, so I couldn’t choose everyone. For the most part, the […]

Inspiration …

[Translate] A friend of mine, Lee Ann Dalton, shared a message on Facebook yesterday that has inspired me. You’ll see the irony in it once you read it … “The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the […]

Thanks Amy!

[Translate] While I was in Chicago for VKL in October, I met a great lady named Amy Kaspar. In actuality, she met me, as I was getting my shoes shined and knitting. I’m very glad to say that even though she’s a resident of Chicago, she visited me two weeks ago! She was in Seattle for work, and made the trip up to Vancouver to visit with some friends – myself included. We had a great visit over lunch at The Foundation (a great vegetarian restaurant on Main Street) and she even wrote an article for the Chicago Examiner […]
