Almost done …

Well, I apologize for taking so long on this Knit-A-Long, but it’s been a crazy spring. With a little luck, we should get it finished this week. The last post for this KAL showed you how to do short rows. Hopefully it wasn’t too late. So by now, you should be an expert in short rows, and have finished both parts of the back lattice. So let’s jump back just a little. after you did the first side of the back, you continued to do the shoulder and the strap that wraps around the front and onto the bra […]

This is me …

Hey everybody, I recently did a video with a great friend of mine who has a YouTube channel for dating. Her name is Susan McCord and she has a dating and relationship channel on You Tube called Two Beavers (It’s going to change as now there is only one beaver) and she has been doing it for a couple of years now. Also, a lot of people have been asking me about me. I kinda started another blog for that, but I haven’t kept up with that one that much. So for those that still want to know, […]

It ain’t easy being short …

Thank you if you’ve had the patience to stick out this knit-a-long with me. By now you may have finished the first set of straps of the back. If you haven’t don’t worry, that may be a good thing. You’ll have noticed that there is some short row shaping in the back of this garment. Silly me, I should have done this post before going on, but you know what they say – better late than never. So here is a review of how to do short rows. The concept is simple – you only work part of your […]

From front to back …

Ok, hopefully by now you’ve finished the front of the top in our KAL. If you haven’t, don’t worry, just keep knitting along at whatever pace is suitable for you. When you get to the ending of the front bodice piece, you want to place your stitches on a holder, instead of casting off as you’re told to do in the instructions. This will help you in fitting the garment to ensure the length is where you want it to be. As in most garments that are worn as tops (sweaters, vests, coats, etc.), adjustments in length are best […]

Finishing the front …

If you’re doing the KAl with me, you should be ready to start finishing the front of the top. That means by now you’ve knit two diamond shaped pieces of fabric. These are the two bra cups that will adorn the front. We will place a liner in them later, but if you want, you can bring them to any fabric shop and start looking for fabric to match the color of the yarn you’re using. The pattern suggests an old t-shirt or piece of cotton, but I think you can probably splurge for a nicer piece of fabric that […]
