Waves
Introducing Waves – a beginner+ level scarf for you to knit. It has a combination of textures and two colors to add a little depth. It’s finished by adding buttons and i-cords for closure so that you can wear this a variety of ways – open like a traditional scarf, or closed to loop it like a cowl. Whichever way you choose, Waves will provide comfort and warmth and quickly become one of you favorite scarves!

Elementary Scarf Pattern
Here is my version of the scarf worn by Lucy Liu in the television show Elementary. As stated earlier, there are some differences, most notably the texture of the stitch. Don’t worry though, they are very similar and only by comparison of the two would you know any different.
This pattern is available for download by donation. Pay any amount you feel comfortable with. Thanks for looking!

Elementary KnitKit
This is the KnitKit for the Elementary scarf. You have 2 choices for the yarn – Maisie, an aran weight 100% Organic Merino Wool, or Donna, an aran weight 100% Superwash Merino wool. If you wish to order Donna, please put “Donna” in the coupon code field. The color for both is natural, with other colors to be available shortly. Included with your order is the printed pattern for the scarf. There is a flat rate shipping and handling charge of $5 in North America and $7.50 elsewhere. Please contact me if you wish to have expedited shipping. Thanks for ordering!
Ashley Pattern
This is the pattern for the cabled slouchie from the hit show Elementary. As explained in the pattern, there are a few minor tweaks – yarn choice, a 2×2 rib instead of a 1×1, and hand knit, not machine. As with all of my patterns, I am sure you’ll be entirely satisfied or I’ll do whatever it takes to make it right. I have used a thicker yarn than what appears to have been used, but I think it makes for a nicer hat – with the slouch still intact. You can use your own yarn, or you can purchase the kit which comes with this pattern and the yarn I used – an Organic Merino Wool. Currently it is only available in Natural, but colors will be available soon!
Ashley Knit Kit
This is the pattern AND yarn needed for the Ashley Slouchie. The yarn you will be getting is the flagship yarn from It Takes Balls To Knit – Maisie. Maisie is a 100% Organic Merino Wool that has a very soft hand yet maintains its structure. It’s unfortunate that you can’t feel this yarn before you purchase it, but I am so confident that you will absolutely fall in love with it that I will fully refund your purchase price if you are not entirely satisfied with it. Simply return it at my expense and I’ll return the money – and you can keep the pattern. Currently Maisie is only available in Natural, but colors will be arriving soon.
Updating…

I love cables. They are what I knit 9 out of 10 times. I am intrigued by your idea of the different # of strands in your cables and how you figured them out.

Thanks Donna. I explain it all in the ebook. And I am now putting up another post you’ll enjoy – braided edgings.

does the Cables ebook explain how to add stitches to a cable pattern to eliminate flare? We can’t seem to find good explanation online of the picking up from previous rows (unless our search terms are innaccurate).
Ta for any help.
