Increasing the Knitting Network …

One of the deepest feelings we can experience as human beings is the feeling of “belonging”. The majority of us spend a great deal of time in search of a partner to share our lives with so that we can create that feeling of belonging. Belonging to someone, or a goal, or an ideal is something most of us strive for in our everyday lives, whether we realize it or not. As a knitter, you belong to a “Close Knit Community” unlike any other. It seems knitters are more likely to welcome others into their fold and share than any other group I have encountered. I’m not saying that knitters are the only group that do this, just that is seems to come naturally to us.

With that in mind I’d like to welcome you into my newly created Close Knit Community. If you haven’t heard, I’ve started a crowd funding campaign to resume shooting the online knitting show! I might be a bit biased but I think it’s a great show and it allows me to bring loads of information to you about the extremely diverse world of knitting. In doing the first 10 episodes last fall, I was actually overwhelmed with the variety of topics to cover. When I first envisioned the show I knew there would be enough material for several years worth of shows, but after doing a little research and broadening my knitting network, I was amazed at how much there was out there that I didn’t know about! So I thought I’d like to get everyone involved into a community, because that’s actually what we are, isn’t it?

So in order for this campaign to work, I’d like to raise $25,000 to continue doing the show. With that I should be able to put together a few months worth of episodes and hopefully the subscriptions will enable the show to become self sustaining after that. That’s sounds like a lot of money, and it is, but as a community we can raise that very easily. As a matter of fact, if we can create a community with 2500 members who each donate $10, we’ll reach the goal! I know people who have more than that on their Facebook lists, so I’m sure this is attainable. Of course, I need your help though. Becoming a member of the community is easy – simply donate at least $10 to the campaign and your name will be added to the community wall. If you click on the Close Knit Community tab at the top of this page you’ll see people who are already here. Perhaps you know some of them? Wouldn’t you like to say you’re part of this community?

Besides knowing you’re part of the community, there’s other perks to being in it and contributing to the campaign. There’s actually a whole list of them that you’ll see on the campaign page. Of course, you’ll also get the great feeling of knowing you help with the production of this show. The new episodes promise to be bigger and better than before. I’ve already lined up some great giveaways for subscribers from some great names in the industry – from signed books to interchangeable needles sets to free lessons and more! And of course each episode will be loaded with information to help you improve your knitting repertoire. I’m really looking forward to bringing all this to you as I truly believe there’s too much information out there to only bring you through a blog. But don’t worry, there will still be blog posts. As a matter of fact, this blog will become very interactive and there will be a more direct interface between it, yourself, and the show.

The goal is 2500 members donating $10. Are you part of the community yet? What are you waiting for? Please share this with your friends out there!

If you are able to contribute, please consider leaving a public comment on the campaign page when you do. This will help feature this campaign at Indiegogo and help grow our community that much faster!

Hugzzz 😎
