You might all remember the stir that was created when Lucy Liu wore that fabulous scarf/cowl on the show Elementary a few weeks back. (Check my pattern Elementary or look back a few posts if you don’t know what I mean). Well, I have to tell you that tonight’s episode has firmly implanted her in my mind as the best dressed actor on television. She was a veritable smorgasbord of fashion – a perpetual runway displaying one fab piece/pieces after the other. Curious – every coat she wore tonight was double breasted! I love that!
Not only that, we got a slight peek into Holmes’ (Johnny Lee Miller) sweater collection! Yeah! Unfortunately the pictures weren’t detailed enough for me to reverse engineer any of them exactly, but I will be watching the show closely from now on to see. I’ll also have to skim through previous episodes to see what I missed! Even the background performers were wearing some pretty nice duds! And John Michael Hill who plays Detective Bell sports a pretty dapper coat too!
So what does this have to do with knitting? Well, I think some of those coats can be knit and then felted – something I’ve wanted to do far a while now. I also think some of them could stand up on their own as just plain knitted pieces! And of course I think that I need to get in touch with their wardrobe department and start making some scarves for Sherlock!
As a last little bonus, Watson was wearing some pretty clingy pants early on in the episode. That gave me the idea that those fabulous legs of hers should be clad in some legwarmers! They are in New York in the wintertime after all! Here are some screen captures to inspire …
So there you have it. At least for this week. I wonder how many of these pieces can make it to knitwear! I can’t wait to see what she wears next week!
