As I start into this post I want to thank a few people for making this a reality after 6 years. Yes, it was 6 years ago that I first made what is now called the Barrington Braid. I didn’t realize at the time what I had done as my mind was elsewhere. In fact, it wasn’t until last year when I recreated it and put it up on here that I started to see the potential of this braid. With your support, I then went on to make many more multiple strand braids and now use the Barrington as the signature piece for different designs using these braids. I’d like to thank J and J (you know who you are) for your advice and guidance regarding what I had. Even after this first one was finished and in my hands I still didn’t see it. Because of you 2, I now do.
I’d also like to thank Eric. Having a good looking piece is one thing, but being able to show it to others is essential. I still don’t know how you can take an object of one color, and take a picture of it laying on top of something else the same color and make it stand out. Regardless of my ignorance, this is what he did. Now I not only have a way of showing this to you, I have the foundation of what will become a logo, business card, etc, etc. Luckily for me, not only is Eric a great photographer, he is a great friend. Thanks!
Lastly I’d like to thank all of you, for your suggestions last year when I was trying to find this pattern online, and after failing that, trying to name it. It was you who said to name it myself, and so I did. So here now I’d like to introduce to you the first (and signature piece) of what I hope is going to be many successful designs coming out of Barrington Knits. Here are a few of the pictures that Eric took.
And the best shot …

all very striking, but the last one is still the money shot. It could be the cover on your next e-book!
(Can you hear the applause?)

It will be nice to watch a tv show where they interview you and you relate the story of how it all began and I can say, I knew Steve back then. It will happen and no one could deserve it more then you. You have certainly changed my ideas on cabling and making some very attractive items because of it.

Heidi, thank you very much. Coming from someone who also likes cables, I take this as a great compliment!

Thanks Susan, for the compliment and the applause. I agree with your picture choice as well. Yes, said e-book and cards and promos will have this as the cover …

Hi Mrhugzzz,
I love the cream colored sweater. Where can I find the pattern for it? Your creations are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Linda,
I’m afraid I no longer can find the pattern for the cream colored sweater. I will be recreating it with a Barrington Braid as the center piece though and have that patter available right here. It should be out by the end of January! Thanks for the compliments!
