Great link Steve. Another point, if a child KEEPS ASKING to learn, teach them or find someone who will.. I begged for someone to teach me from age 4 to 12 when my brother in law finally got mad and did it himself. He learned as a young boy. The women just said “she’ll learn it when she gets older like we did.” I cannot learn just from a book, it had to be shown to me.
I still regret the years I missed out on and wish they had listened. Still can’t crochet because no one would sit and show me and no matter how many books, videos or dvds I tried worked. But, knitting has been an absolute passion for 52 years.
