Well, it would seem that knitting is helping to cross all barriers and boundaries – including stereotypes of men knitting and also getting them to open up and talk about “personal” issues. You know, just like women do when they sit around with needles and yarn in hand. Here is a commercial with Rosie Grier, a famous NFL’er with the St. Louis Rams and needlepointer that deals with a topic that most men just don’t want to talk about.
Now I’m not saying we all have to get around a campfire and sing Kumbya or anything, but I think this is a good start! And no, I don’t think it’s hitting below the belt!
