30 day sweater

Sweater September …

[Translate] A couple of years ago, New Stitch A Day developed a 30 Day sweater template and had a 30 day sweater challenge. The concept was completing the seemingly daunting task of knitting a sweater in 30 days! Through doing the challenge what most people discovered was that it wasn’t daunting at all! In fact, it was enjoyable and easily accomplished. My friend Zylo is continuing the challenge and has thrown the gauntlet. She is doing Sweater September, where the goal is to knit a sweater in the month of September. Now I know we’re 1/3 of the way […]

The 1,000 stitch a day KAL …

[Translate] One of the great things about being a knitter is enjoying the sense of community we all share when we meet other knitters. Knitting has a great way of creating instant bonds like no other commonality I know of. It crosses genders, race, knowledge, language, everything, and instantly connects two people like nothing else. In this “Close Knit Community” I have become a part of – and that you are a part of as well – is a great mastermind or collective that can take a random thought and turn it into a tangible idea. Tis the Season …

[Translate] Well, with less than a week until Christmas Day, I’m sure all you knitters are busy finishing up last minute gifts for everybody on your lists. The thing is, what do you give to people who are knitters that are on your list? All of the above make great gifts for knitters. Here’s a few thoughts about each of those you may like. Books: […]

Getting back to normal?

[Translate] No way! To coin a line from a very famous film … “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore” … I want to thank everybody for the patience they’ve shown as we go through the growing pains of working out the kinks in the production and distribution of this new show. Unfortunately, my posting has suffered a little as it has been extremely difficult finding the time to deal with the issues that have arisen and still maintain any amount of normalcy in my everyday routine. I’d like to say though, that things are looking a lot better, […]

Planning for the finish ..

[Translate] The secret to any successful project implementation is good planning. Knitting a sweater (or any other garment) is very much the same. Unfortunately, it took me years of knitting before I realized this, and as a result, my first few sweaters could have been made a lot better. I’m not lamenting the past, just reflecting on the fact that had I had someone telling me certain things, well, I would definitely have more sweaters that I would be proud of wearing. So it is with this thought in mind that I write this post, and hopefully some of […]
